Client

The Brick (via KO Group)

Role

Music Licensing Agent

Media

National TV/Radio/Internet Advertising campaign

The Challenge

The agency representing The Brick sought to secure the rights to the iconic hit Brick House by The Commodores for a national retail advertising campaign. Given the prominence of the song and its rights holders, the clearance process required careful coordination, strategic negotiation, and strict adherence to campaign timelines.

The Solution

Music For Productions was engaged as the licensing agent and liaison between the master rights holders and the publisher. On behalf of our client, we negotiated the publishing rights, secured the master rights under a Most Favoured Nations (MFN) agreement, and aligned all commercial terms across parties. Our team managed approvals, contracts, and compliance requirements to ensure the campaign could proceed without delays or legal risk.

The Result

All rights were successfully cleared on time and within the agreed framework, allowing the 6-month national campaign to launch seamlessly across all media on February 9, 2026. Through a fully licensed, high-profile synchronization, Music For Productions ensured budget alignment among all parties, mitigated legal and clearance risks, and delivered the certainty required for the creative to roll out nationwide with complete confidence.
